Not only did moving to California from Michigan change my emotional state of being, it also changed my hair. I was stressed with finding a new apartment, becoming acquainted with the area, and everything else that comes along with moving to a new state. I moved here in hopes of finding my way, whether that be in the entertainment business or elsewhere, and I guess you could say the nice weather and scenery doesn’t hurt. But back to my point, all of these factors led me to stress out (which is typical of me) and affected my hair.
The main factor affecting my hair was the water. Living in Michigan, I was surrounded by lakes but here in California I am near the ocean. The hard water was making my hair so dry and tangled that I could barely comb through it after the shower, even when I used a large amount of conditioner. Strands of my hair started breaking and falling out. This only caused me to stress more which was most likely the reason for increased thinning. My hair is already very fine so you can imagine how much I was freaking out!
After a blood test at the doctor’s (to make sure there weren’t any underlying issues) and hours and hours of searching the internet for solutions, I was able to find a haircare routine that works for me. I purchased this shower head filter and used this product on my roots after showering. My hair has become significantly better so I just wanted to share with anyone else who may be dealing with this issue.
Here are some of the other products that I use on my hair:
